Jimmy Ta

Jimmy Ta moved from Vietnam to the United States with his mother and siblings when he was in elementary school, but his father was unable to join them for another year. Jimmy struggled with the language, the culture, and with a lack of self-confidence. Brandon Sheehan

Brandon Sheehan was born near Venice Beach, California. He says he grew up with sandy toes and salty lips. He studied fire ecology in college and worked for the forest service fighting wildfires. Reviewing old transcripts of some of the first interviews for the project as I write today and finding new gems of wisdom. This from Fred Baron, a Holocaust survivor, during our interview in 2009. “We are responsible for our fellow men and women.
