Holden Village 2.0

Blog002It’s easy to reach out to those you feel comfortable around. Compassion comes easy in those circles. But we tend to place ourselves in a bubble. We surround ourselves with those who look like us, live like us, and voted like us in the last election cycle.

If we hope to bridge any of the divides that exist in our country (or even the divides that we perceive to exist) it is important that we reach out to those who make us feel uncomfortable. We need to burst the bubble, reach out of our comfort zone, and be intentional about expanding our world view.

Our second week at Holden Village, we asked people to respond to this prompt: How will I commit to initiating a conversation with someone I am uncomfortable with?

Below are some of the responses. More answers can be found on our Facebook Page.
