We did it!

Tuesday night was a great celebration of a long effort to produce our new book, A Peace of My Mind: American Stories.

Thanks to everyone who came out to Squirrel Haus Arts for the release party. There were people who’ve been in my books, people who helped support and fund the books, friends, family, and more.

If I could judge it right from up front, there were smiles, tears, nods of understanding. Neal Hagberg provided great music to balance and enhance the stories. West Indies Soul Food brought their truck and delicious food.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, to the many who helped in big and small ways. It was truly a wonderful night and my heart is full.

I’d like to say that now is the perfect time to sit back, take a deep breath, and celebrate what we’ve accomplished…but there is work to do. The books need to find homes. There are orders to fill. The press is calling for interviews, and we have to produce the series as a traveling exhibit in the next few months, because it’s already booked at venues starting in January.

If you already have a copy of the book, enjoy the stories, and share them with your friends. Use them to foster conversations about how we all might make a positive impact on the world we live in. If you haven’t gotten a book yet, you can get your copy at this link.

Tuesday night was a great start…I’ll look forward to moving these stories into the world and seeing what sort of ripples we can set in motion.

Onward!
