I’m excited to announce a new website for A Peace of My Mind. It’s amazing what long days at the kitchen table with a laptop and a pot of coffee can do. Oh…and a crowd of WordPress Happiness Engineers on the other end of a chat line.
Most of the bugs seem to be worked out, so it’s ready for viewing. (That being said, I’m sure something has slipped through the cracks…I will gladly crowdsource corrections, so let me know if you find a glitch.)
The previous site will remain active to archive our older stories, but all new content will be posted here:
That’s right, fewer letters…a shorter URL. When you start a project like this it’s hard to think everything through. It’s hard to imagine radio interviews where you have to recite the website. They tend to go like this:
Host: “So, John, is there a website for this project your working on?”
Me: “As a matter of fact, there is, nice host person…thanks for asking! The website is apeaceofmymind.net. That’s peace, not piece…..so it’s a…p….e…a….c….e…o…f…my….mind. And it’s .net.
Host: “I see…for our listeners, if you didn’t quite catch that, we’ll post a link on our website.”
It’s a lot of words. So APoMM.net seems easier.
Plus there were some functionality issues that didn’t seem like they could be resolved in the old format, so it was time to start from scratch.
I’m excited about some of the new features. All new podcasts and blogs will be placed on the home page, so every time you visit, you’ll get the latest updates. Each post will have sharing buttons at the bottom so you can easily share a little peace with your friends through every social media outlet imaginable.
Our Instagram feed (now that we HAVE an Instagram feed) will post directly to the website’s home page.
There’s more, but I’ll let you spend a little time with it. Every once in a while I’ll share a new feature that makes me unreasonably happy about the new site.
I feel like I’ve been idling for a while…editing, laying the foundation for A Peace of My Mind to grow…waiting for the right publishing connection….building the new website. All that behind the scenes work is wrapping up…and it’s time to turn back to the stories.
